Assistant QA Manager

 

Electric Motor & Contracting Co Inc

To assist the QA Manager in control and maintenance of the ISO9001 certified quality program.  Key tasks include investigating quality problems, determining causes and corrective and preventive action, rework and non-conformance reporting, and preparation/amendment of quality and operating procedures. 

Minimum of 3 years experience, which MUST include working with ISO9001.

This position would suit a good investigator, organizer and communicator, with strong Microsoft Office skills, who has been trained as an ISO internal auditor and is now looking to expand in the quality profession.   RAB Auditor training and motor repair background are a plus.

To perform dimensional measurements and inspection of disassembled electric motors and associated parts to determine necessary repairs, also verification of new or repaired parts following machining. 

Minimum requirements: High school graduate, with experience / proven ability to use inside and outside micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, depth micrometers etc.  Must be legible and accurate record keeper.  Former military mechanical technician is a definite plus.

DUTIES:
The SRF Institute Quality manager will assist the Institute leadership in implementing and maintaining an ISO 9000 quality structure incorporating all Institute activities. The Quality manager will lead the SRF institute quality assurance group and will be responsible for implementing a quality framework that encompasses all work activities. The Quality manager will work with various parties to develop and analyze performance metrics for the organization.
Experience/Education Required BS Degree in Engineering, 10 years experience in a Quality or Industrial Engineering related field and ISO 9001 Quality System implementation. Demonstrated track record in a Quality or Industrial Engineering related field and ISO 9001 Quality System implementation are required. Previous experience in a Manufacturing, R&D or Laboratory environment a significant plus. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as PowerPoint, Excel and Word expertise. Experience with Minitab and Supplier Quality Engineering are also a plus.

Plant Quality Control Manager

 

MAPEI Corporation is seeking an exceptional Quality Control Manager in our Fredericksburg, VA plant. We invite you to explore a dynamic and rewarding future with the world’s top provider in

concrete restoration.

 

The qualified candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating activities of the Plant
Quality Control laboratory according to the directions from the Unit Manager, Manager of Quality
Control MAPEI Americas while adhering to all policies, procedures and instructions as defined in
our Quality Management System. Other responsibilities include: directly managing employees in
the Quality Control Department, carrying out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the
organization’s policies and applicable laws, managing all aspects of Quality Control in the plant,
including safety in the laboratory, control and calibration of the laboratory equipment, updating of
the working instructions, forms and specifications, analyzing results of Quality Control test results
in order to propose optimization of the testing plans, formulas, testing methods and also
specifications for production processes, products and tests, including temporary modifications to
the frequency of testing, conferring with R&D regarding the necessary research related to
preliminary evaluation of the alternative raw materials and any other issues related to the quality
of finished products, and other additional duties.

 

Technical skills (preferred but not required): Proficiency with Viscometer (Brookfield), Sieve
Analyzer, Compression & Flexural Testing Equipment, Vicat, pH Meter, Spectrophotometer
(Minolta), Linear Movement (Shrinkage bars), statistical software experience and AS400. The
position requires a Bachelors’ degree (B.S.) in a Scientific or Engineering field from a four-year
college or university, plus a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience or equivalent combination
of education, experience and/or training.
